Hackensack Meridian Health's Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ is seeking an experienced physician leader for the Chief Physician Advisor role, a 100% administrative position reporting to the CMO, designed for a strategic leader focused on optimizing hospital performance.

The role blends clinical operations, data analytics, and payer strategy to drive improvements in a large academic medical center.

Qualifications

Physician (MD or DO) licensed in New Jersey.
Minimum of 10 years of hospital-based clinical experience.
Demonstrated expertise in Utilization Management, Clinical Documentation, or Case Management.
Strong knowledge of CMS regulations (including the Two-Midnight Rule).

Responsibilities

Provide Senior Leadership: Serve as the primary advisor to the CMO, lead the JSUMC Physician Advisor team, and oversee Utilization Review to align strategies with hospital-wide quality, safety, and financial goals.
Drive Clinical & Financial Optimization: Masterfully oversee Utilization Management (UM), Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI), and denial prevention to improve throughput, reduce length of stay, and ensure accurate reimbursement.
Innovate with Technology: Champion the use of advanced informatics, including Epic-enhanced dashboards, predictive analytics, and AI-supported tools to enhance documentation and coding accuracy.
Lead and Educate: Develop and implement a robust education curriculum for medical staff, residents, and APPs, fostering a culture of compliance and documentation excellence.
