Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health's Jersey Shore University Medical Center seeks an experienced physician leader for the Chief Physician Advisor role, a 100% administrative position reporting to the CMO, focused on optimizing hospital performance.

As Chief Physician Advisor, you will integrate clinical operations, data analytics, and payer strategy to drive improvements in care progression, documentation integrity, utilization management, and reimbursement.

Qualifications

10+ years of hospital-based clinical experience.
MD or DO licensed in New Jersey (active license).
Expertise in Utilization Management, Clinical Documentation, or Case Management.
Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, including the Two-Midnight Rule.

Responsibilities

Provide Senior Leadership: serve as the primary advisor to the CMO and oversee the JSUMC Physician Advisor team and Utilization Review to align quality, safety, and financial goals.
Drive Clinical & Financial Optimization: oversee Utilization Management, Clinical Documentation Integrity, and denial prevention to improve throughput, length of stay, and reimbursement.
Innovate with Technology: champion Epic dashboards, predictive analytics, and AI-supported tools to enhance documentation and coding accuracy.
Lead and Educate: develop and implement a robust education curriculum for medical staff, residents, and APPs.
