Job summary

Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, NJ is seeking an experienced physician leader for the role of Chief Physician Advisor, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer to optimize hospital performance.

This 100% administrative position combines clinical operations, data analytics, and payer strategy to improve care progression, documentation integrity, and reimbursement while mentoring a physician advisory team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of hospital-based clinical experience.
• MD or DO licensed in New Jersey.
• Demonstrated expertise in Utilization Management, Clinical Documentation Integrity, or Case Management.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations (including the Two-Midnight Rule).

Responsibilities

• Provide Senior Leadership: serve as the primary advisor to the CMO and lead the JSUMC Physician Advisor team.
• Oversee Utilization Review to align strategies with quality, safety, and financial goals.
• Oversee UM, CDI, and denial prevention to improve throughput and ensure accurate reimbursement.
• Lead and educate by developing an education curriculum for medical staff, residents, and APPs; foster compliance and documentation excellence.
