Description:

The DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan is one of the nation's largest hospitals specializing in rehabilitation medicine and research. It is renowned for expertise in spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputee care, orthopedics, and catastrophic injury care. The institute houses the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and the Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), one of 16 federally designated model systems for brain injury care and research. Additionally, RIM operates 31 outpatient sites across southeast Michigan, focusing on sports medicine and orthopedics.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Senior Physical Therapist provides oversight to the physical therapy team, assists in managing daily operations, and resolves issues. Responsibilities include coordinating staff schedules, ensuring timely patient care, enforcing department policies, and serving as a supervisor in the absence of leadership. The role involves staff selection and evaluation, participating in performance improvement, mentoring, providing education, and serving as a clinical resource. The Senior Physical Therapist also contributes to community outreach, departmental projects, research, and performs all duties of a Physical Therapist as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or certification from an accredited program
• Three to five years of clinical experience with leadership skills
• Leadership experience preferred
• Current Michigan Physical Therapist license
