Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for a full-time day shift in Rehabilitation Services to evaluate and treat patients under physician orders and guide treatment plans.

You will lead the Physical Therapy Department staff, ensure safe operation of equipment, and collaborate with nursing, administration and physicians to deliver patient-centered care while adhering to budget and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of physical therapy is required.
• Current Texas physical therapist license is required.
• Organizational skills are necessary.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
• Outpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the Physical Therapy Department staff including Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Aides.
• Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effect, recommends change to physician as needed.
• Perform an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments as per policy.
• Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning.
• Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy modalities.
• Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity; addresses diverse needs.
• Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
