SMR has been retained to assist our prestigious multinational client in recruiting for their new Senior Physical Security Systems Engineer role. This is a hands-on, remote position supporting integrated physical security systems, office expansion projects, and ongoing technology improvements across a global corporate environment. You will contribute to security implementation throughout the project lifecycle, from early design and requirements development through installation, commissioning, and ongoing support. Working with internal stakeholders, security consultants, and construction partners, you will help translate business and security requirements into practical technical solutions while improving the systems and services already in place.
This is a great role for someone who combines strong physical security systems expertise with the communication skills and professional presence to advise senior leaders, coordinate project partners, and explain technical issues to nontechnical colleagues. You are the ideal candidate if you bring practical C- CURE 9000 experience, familiarity with construction-related security implementation, and the organization and judgment to balance long-term projects with day-to-day operational priorities.
Responsibilities
- Support physical security implementation for office buildouts and large-scale construction projects, working with security consultants to define system requirements and technical specifications early in the design phase.
- Review floor plans, CAD drawings, and wiring schematics, coordinating with consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal real estate portfolio managers to support effective project delivery.
- Configure, test, commission, and troubleshoot access control, video surveillance, visitor management, intercoms, and related physical security technologies.
- Plan and coordinate system upgrades, migrations, and improvements, including mobile access initiatives and video management systems.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for local operations teams and, as needed, IT colleagues; prioritize hardware and software issues, coordinate resolution, and provide end-user guidance and training.
- Communicate security requirements, project expectations, and technical recommendations to senior leaders and other stakeholders, while maintaining accurate system documentation and alignment with firmwide standards.
Experience, Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in security, Information Technology, or a related field, or at least four years of equivalent hands-on experience supporting physical security systems in a corporate environment.
- Strong practical proficiency with Software House C- CURE 9000, including configuration, troubleshooting, and platform-specific functionality; Advanced Integrator certification preferred.
- Hands-on experience with access control, video surveillance, and related security technologies, supported by an understanding of hardware, software, and IT infrastructure; a service-technician or systems-integrator background is valuable.
- Experience supporting security implementation on construction or real estate projects, including interpreting floor plans, CAD drawings, and wiring schematics and coordinating technical requirements with consultants and construction partners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the professional presence to engage senior leadership, advise stakeholders appropriately, and translate technical concepts into clear guidance for nontechnical users.
- Highly developed organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate long-term technical projects, triage competing operational needs, and adapt as circumstances change.
