Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking aSenior Physical Security Manager to lead 24/7 security operations, manage contract security personnel, and shape enterprise-wide security policies. You will work directly with the Director, Industrial Security to align with AV’s risk posture and business resiliency goals.

The role requires extensive experience in physical security, leadership, and defense-in-depth knowledge, plus the ability to travel up to half the year. ITAR compliance and U.S.

Qualifications

• 13+ years in Physical Security across the full spectrum (physical security, executive protection, crisis management, emergency response).
• 6+ years in leadership building/maintaining security programs and budgets for small teams.
• Experience with security technology, guard force management, and defense-in-depth principles.
• Current DOD Secret clearance; Top Secret preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Own the full physical security assessment lifecycle from analysis to execution and mitigation tracking.
• Lead comprehensive physical security assessments across facilities and regions.
• Define and maintain assessment strategy, ensuring consistent application.
• Conduct risk analyses for infrastructure and develop reduction strategies.
• Develop and implement physical security control strategies balancing security and operations.
• Build repeatable processes/tools to accelerate delivery.
• Communicate findings to audiences from practitioners to executives.
• Lead projects across the physical security portfolio and drive milestones to completion.
• Evaluate security implications of technology projects from a physical security perspective.
