Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP is seeking a seasoned Physical Security leader to oversee procedures, risk assessments, and investigations across Firm personnel and facilities. You will manage access control systems, coordinate with vendors, and supervise the New York team under the Physical Security leadership in Chicago.

You will analyze intelligence on terrorism and crime, ensure compliance with government requirements, and communicate findings to leadership with clear, actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Ten years of progressive experience in physical security or related area.
• Experience developing and evaluating physical security procedures.
• Experience conducting threat, risk assessments and investigations.
• Working knowledge of access control systems and related security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, reviews, and maintains physical security procedures, protocols, and standards to protect personnel, offices, facilities, and assets.
• Assesses physical security risks and recommends preventive, protective, and corrective measures.
• Analyzes intelligence related to terrorism, crime, and geopolitical developments that may affect the Firm.
• Monitors threat information and identifies trends requiring action.
• Prepares security assessments, threat analyses, and briefings for leadership.
• Assists with planning/design/maintenance of access control systems and related security tech.
• Coordinates with security vendors, contractors, and service providers.
• Conducts investigations into alleged misconduct or security incidents as directed.
• Supervises the NY office analyst and provides guidance and performance feedback.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and coordinates with HR/IT/building management.
