Job summary

Control Risks is seeking a Physical Security Designer to support the growth of its Built Environment & Infrastructure design practice in North America. The role involves preparing design drawings, technical documentation, specifications, and schedules for electronic and non-electronic physical protection systems across upgrades and new constructions.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of US/NA codes, security standards, and collaboration with a US-based Americas BE&I team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering; or security-related field with relevant design experience.
• Proficiency with two or more design/delivery tools (CAD/BIM/Docs).
• Professional registrations or certifications (e.g., CET/PE/PSP) preferred.
• Ability to produce client-ready reports, narratives, drawings, specs, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare security design documents and drawings for electronic and non-electronic protection systems.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and security integrators on design deliverables.
• Support CPTED, perimeter protection, and facility hardening measures.
• Mentor non-designer security and risk management staff to contribute to design programming.
• Conduct site surveys and existing condition reviews for project delivery and risk assessments.
• Translate findings into practical security design requirements and deliverables.
• Help develop proposals, scopes of work, and project budgets.
