Job summary

Control Risks is seeking a Physical Security Designer to support its North America design practice. You will prepare and review design drawings, technical documentation, and schedules for electronic and non-electronic physical protection systems across upgrades and new builds.

You will work with the Americas BE&I team and wider Control Risks network, applying codes, standards, and industry guidelines while mentoring others and delivering coordinated security solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering (or security-related field with relevant experience) as required.
• Professional registrations are preferred (CET, CEET, CEST, EIT, PE, SE, PSP, CPP, CPTED).
• Ability to produce concise, client-ready reports, design narratives, drawings comments, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare security design documents and basis of design narratives.
• Produce and coordinate drawings for electronic protection systems (access control, intrusion, video).
• Support non-electronic protection measures (perimeter, CPTED, barriers).
• Mentor non-designer security professionals in design requirements development.
• Quality review design documents and submittals.
• Perform site surveys and security assessments for projects.
• Translate findings into practical design requirements and deliverables.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, PMs, owners, and security integrators.
• Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.
