Job summary

Control Risks is seeking a Physical Security Designer to support its Built Environment & Infrastructure practice in North America. The role involves preparing design drawings, specifications, and schedules for electronic and non-electronic physical protection systems, supporting upgrades and new construction, and collaborating with architects, engineers, and project teams.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in security design, knowledge of U.S./NA building codes, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering, or security-related field with relevant experience.
• Experience with design and delivery of physical protection systems.
• Knowledge of U.S. and North American building codes and life-safety requirements.
• Proficiency with design and delivery tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Bluebeam, etc.).
• Ability to travel for site surveys and design meetings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare security design documents and equipment schedules across electronic and non-electronic systems.
• Coordinate drawings and technical files for access control, video surveillance, intrusion, and related systems.
• Support non-electronic protection measures like perimeter protection and CPTED.
• Mentor non-designer security and risk management professionals.
• Quality review design documents, submittals, and drawings.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to support project delivery.
