Job summary

Dallas Medical Center, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician II to perform skin puncture and venipuncture on patients of all ages for blood specimen collection. The role operates under the supervision of the Laboratory Director/Manager/Supervisor and involves clerical tasks, specimen processing, and cross-department support in a clinical lab setting.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma, current CPT certification, and BCLS certification with at least 3 years of lab experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current state CPT certification is required.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate on hire and maintained.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy Technician II performs skin puncture or venipuncture on patients of all ages to obtain blood specimens.
• Under supervision of Laboratory Director/Manager/Supervisor, duties include data entry and clerical tasks, specimen processing and lab support.
• Collect specimens from newborns to geriatric patients using proper phlebotomy techniques and equipment.
• Process specimens for microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and blood bank; refer specimens to reference labs as needed.
• Stock and order routine supplies and maintain cleanliness of storage areas, trays, centrifuges, refrigerators and work areas.
• Assist with sample collection at hospital/OR, sorting, inventory, and other duties across departments; may support during graveyard shifts.
