Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collection and specimen handling, ensuring accurate labeling and data entry. You will greet patients, explain collection methods, and assist with related clerical duties in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires a valid HR diploma or GED and at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience or an eligible training program. BLS within 30 days of hire is expected, with acute care hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification/experience required or eligible training.
• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience or completion of a clinical phlebotomy program.
• Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct on proper specimen collection methods.
• Draw blood via finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipuncture and collect other specimens as required.
• Label specimens accurately and enter data into the computer.
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis.
