Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred or required.
• Current phlebotomy certification preferred; required if applicable.
• Previous phlebotomy experience in a physician's office, clinic, or laboratory preferred.
• Excellent communication and patient-service skills.

Aufgaben

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of varying ages as appropriate.
• Label specimens accurately at collection time and follow lab requirements.
• Package specimens and coordinate delivery or pickup with the reference lab.
• Monitor supplies and maintain proper storage conditions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow infection-control procedures and dispose of sharps and biohazardous waste safely.
