Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Dallas is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician II for day shifts in the Dallas Medical Center laboratory. The role involves collecting blood samples from patients of all ages under supervision of the Laboratory Director/Manager, and performing related clerical duties.

The position requires CPT certification, BCLS, and at least 3 years in a clinical laboratory, with benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401K options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and valid CPT certification.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain.
• Minimum 3 years clinical laboratory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform skin puncture or venipuncture on patients of all ages for blood specimens.
• Handle computer data entry, filing, phone communications and other clerical duties.
• Demonstrate proper phlebotomy technique and use of equipment across age groups.
• Process specimens in microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and blood bank labs.
• Stock and order routine supplies; maintain cleanliness of storage areas and work spaces.
• May assist with sample pickups, sorting, and referrals to reference laboratories.
• May work across multiple departments during night shifts and perform point of care testing after training.
