Job summary

Mindlance is seeking a phlebotomist to assist with blood draws, labeling and processing of specimens in a clinical laboratory setting in Oregon. The role includes collecting and storing specimens, explaining procedures to patients, and ensuring accurate match of requisitions and tubes.

Responsibilities include centrifuging, labeling, transporting, and storing according to protocol, as well as complying with OSHA/DEP regulations and participating in annual trainings.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly explains the venipuncture process to patients in a courteous manner.
• Demonstrates technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and ensure accuracy.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer phone calls and relay lab results as needed.
