Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician by one of the listed certifying bodies is required.
• At least one year of hospital-based phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and microcollection accurately and compassionately.
• Ensure timely, high-quality specimen collection and processing.
• Enter and maintain patient/specimen data in the LIS.
• Perform Point-of-Care (POC) testing per guidelines.
• Serve as Senior Phlebotomist when needed, guiding peers.
• Adhere to universal precautions and Joint Commission safety guidelines.
• Teach and train new staff and students as assigned.
• Monitor supplies and restock as needed.
