Job summary

Responsibilities include processing samples, maintaining logs, and performing routine non-patient tasks. Requires at least three years of phlebotomy experience and high school diploma, with phlebotomy certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime as staffing needs require.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens per established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions per training.
• Verify orders and enter data using lab systems and client communication tools.
• Navigate computer systems and enter billing information accurately when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as needed by test orders.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones and email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions as required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature) promptly.
• Complete online and in-person training timely.
