Job summary

You will support the laboratory team in timely reporting and patient safety, with emphasis on quality and regulatory compliance. A minimum of 5 years’ phlebotomy experience and state certification where required are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Phlebotomy Certificate (if required by State)

Responsibilities

• Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log.
• Verifies patient by reading patient identification.
• Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique and following procedures.
• Tracks collected specimens and maintains daily tallies of collections.
