One in six Kentuckians does not know where their next meal will come from. In Central and Eastern Kentucky, that number rises to one in five. God's Pantry Food Bank serves more than 500 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and meal programs across 50 counties, helping provide food and hope to individuals and families facing hunger.
Our vision is a nourished life for every Kentuckian. Our mission is to reduce hunger by working together to feed Kentucky communities. Through partnerships, advocacy, and community support, we work to ensure that everyone has access to nutritious food and the opportunity to thrive.
At God's Pantry Food Bank, our team is committed to making a meaningful impact every day. We seek passionate, mission-driven professionals who are dedicated to strengthening communities and helping create a Kentucky free from hunger.
The Senior Philanthropy Manager will identify, qualify, solicit, close, and steward major gifts ($5,000+) with a focus on high net-worth individuals. This position will create strategic requests and reports for donors by collaborating with the Marketing and Communications team to align with the department's overall goals and plans.
Given that God’s Pantry Food Bank is both a crisis response and an ongoing service agency, it is necessary that staff be adaptable and creative, able to deal with rapid change and unusual demands of time and effort. It is also imperative that excellent working relationships and a positive atmosphere be maintained with not only the staff, but with donors, volunteers, neighbors, and all others with whom the employee comes in contact while representing God’s Pantry Food Bank.
This position operates in a typical office environment and requires constant use of a computer and other office equipment such as phones, calculators, computer printers and copy machines.
The person in this position frequently communicates with donors and stakeholders in person and over the phone and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
This position will require travel in the state of Kentucky for donor and vendor meetings. Infrequent national and/or overnight travel may be required for professional development opportunities. Occasional night, weekend, or on-call work may be required for events.
