Job summary

Walgreens in Flint, Michigan is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist by entering patient and drug information, counting and dispensing medications, and maintaining workflow. Under pharmacist supervision, you will help ensure accurate dispensing and adherence to policies and procedures.

You will assist with inventory, third-party claims, and customer service while contributing to clinical services as needed.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy, Health System Pharmacy locations, or in locations where this role is covered under a collective bargaining agreement).

Responsibilities

• Assist in pharmacy operations under supervision by the pharmacist and comply with policies.
• Enter patient and drug information in pharmacy systems; fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring medications.
• Report prescription errors and support Quality Improvement Program.
• Maintain inventory management and process warehouse-related claims and adjustments.
• Support clinical services and coordination with Walgreens healthcare providers.
• Coach technicians and cashiers to drive efficiency in the pharmacy.
• Handle routine calls not requiring pharmacist attention and assist with third-party claims.
• Maintain compliance with Good Faith Dispensing policies.
