Job summary

Walgreens in Minnesota seeks a Pharmacy Technician who under supervision assists pharmacists with dispensing, customer service, and daily store operations. You will greet customers, help locate OTC items, and ensure accurate medication labeling and safety checks.

Responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions, entering data into pharmacy systems, managing inventory, handling third-party claims, and supporting clinical and outreach activities within the local medical community.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs; verify medicine is correct.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems and maintain workflow.
• Lead pharmacy department inventory management activities and supplier coordination.
• Assist and support Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing Rx KPIs and improving pharmacy performance.
• Support pickup program and cash register duties; guide customers to OTC items.
• Coach technicians and cashiers in processes to drive efficiency; ensure compliance with policies.
• Maintain adherence to policy and Quality Improvement Program; report prescription errors as required.
• Coordinate with physicians and health providers and engage in outreach as needed.
