Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a medication history pharmacy technician who will interview patients, families, or caregivers to obtain a complete list of home medications, under supervision of the medication history pharmacist.

The role includes documenting findings in the medical record and communicating relevant information to the medical team, nursing staff, and pharmacy staff while supporting various pharmacy areas to ensure accurate histories.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Licensure: Registered Technician or Pharmacy Intern with MA Board of Pharmacy and PTCB certified, or a student with Mass internship license.
Experience: At least 1 year in pharmacy including sterile compounding and/or retail.
Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical terms, abbreviations, and controlled substances handling.

Responsibilities

Interview patient, family, or caregiver to obtain a complete home medication list.
Document findings in the medical record and communicate information to medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff.
Assist in multiple pharmacy areas to develop expertise (Central, OR, Sterile compounding, etc.).
Support training and process improvement efforts and ensure safe, timely medication distribution.
