Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking an Advanced Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in daily operations across inpatient and retail areas. You will assist with medication preparation, compounding oversight, and training of entry-level technicians.

The role requires a high school diploma, state license, and at least 2 years of pharmacy tech experience in the current practice area. A focus on IV/hazardous drug handling and inventory management is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required.
• At least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience in the current practice area (inpatient or retail) required.
• Additional certifications in relevant areas through PTCB preferred (e.g., CSPT, Nonsterile Compounding, Supply Chain, Immunizations, Inventory Management, etc.)
• Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred.
• 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility)

Responsibilities

• Assists the Pharmacist in daily operation of the Pharmacy.
• In inpatient areas, supports IV/ hazardous drug compounding and inventory management.
• In retail areas, assists with medication preparation, QA and audits, and training of entry-level technicians.
