Job summary

Providence St Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to fill and dispense unit dose, IV and chemotherapeutic medications to nursing units and other departments, in a prompt, safe and accurate manner.

The role supports teamwork and reflects Providence's mission; requires state certification, license, hospital-based experience, IV aseptic techniques, and the ability to handle urgent situations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Level A training program certified by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
• Washington Pharmacy Technician License required upon hire.
• Experience with telephone call prioritization.
• Experience with stressful/urgent need situations.
• 3 months practical hospital pharmacy experience under supervision.
• Experience with IV admixture/aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Fill and dispense unit dose medications to nursing units and ancillary departments.
• Prepare and dispense IV and chemotherapeutic medications accurately and promptly.
• Promote teamwork and reflect the Providence Mission and Philosophy in daily duties.
