Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists, process prescriptions, and manage daily pharmacy operations. You will enter patient data, verify medications, and support inventory and billing processes under pharmacist supervision.

Requirements include 1 year of relevant experience, PTCB/ExCPT certification, fluent English, and a willingness to obtain immunization certification within 90 days. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification required (except in Puerto Rico).
• At least 1 year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under pharmacist supervision, assist in pharmacy practice per policy and code of conduct.
• Use pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, fill prescriptions, and verify medicines.
• Assist with scheduling and workload as directed by Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist.
• Process (correct and resubmit) manual third‑party claims in a timely manner; perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Lead inventory management: ordering, unpacking, storing, and safeguarding pharmaceuticals.
• Support clinical services coordination with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Help maintain relationships with local medical community and support pickup program.
