Responsibilities

1. Assist pharmacists in planning and coordinating manpower schedules
2. Highlight equipment failures and unusual activities and take corrective action
3. Inventory Management and Control
4. Manage customer feedback and complaints
5. Manage inventories of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products
6. Patient Interaction and Communication
7. Perform regular quality assurance audits
8. Pharmacy Operations and Support
9. Prescription Processing and Dispensing
10. Provide coaching and on-the-job training
11. Quality Assurance and Compliance
12. Report dispensing errors and near misses to pharmacists
13. Strong leadership and communication skills
14. Suggest improvements to workflows and processes
15. Taking part in administrative tasks

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
2. Several years of experience as a pharmacy technician
3. Current pharmacy technician registration/certification
4. Basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure
5. Effective computer and keyboarding skills
6. Working knowledge of pharmacy information systems
7. Strong communication skills, both written and oral
8. Strong prioritization skills and an ability to make decisions independently and effectively
9. Able to operate equipment such as computers, scan guns, tablet counters, and cash registers
10. Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices
