Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in dispensing medications, entering patient information, and maintaining workflow. You will assist in inventory, claims processing, and customer service in a fast paced retail pharmacy.

The role requires one year of pharmacy tech experience, PTCB/ExCPT certification, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Immunization certification within 90 days may be required in some locations.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital settings.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire where not covered by an agreement.

Responsibilities

• Assist under pharmacist supervision in dispensing and entering patient and drug information.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring drugs; verify accuracy.
• Support scheduling and workflow; report prescription errors promptly.
• Handle cash register and assist customers to OTC aisle when possible.
• Process manual third‑party prescription claims efficiently.
• Lead Pharmacy Department inventory management, ordering and storage.
• Analyze performance data with Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist.
• Assist with clinical services coordination and healthcare outreach.
• Support Pickup program and maintain department appearance and order.
• Coach technicians and cashiers on processes and tools; ensure policy compliance.
