Job summary

Marsh is seeking a Senior Medical Consultant II – Pharmacist to join the Government Health Consulting (GHC) team. The role supports state Medicaid and CHIP programs with expert pharmacy leadership and offers hybrid work with three days in the office.

You will lead client deliverables, contribute to strategy and policy discussions, and mentor junior staff while staying current on regulations and market trends.

Qualifications

• An independent and unrestricted pharmacist license (RPh).
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• State-level Medicaid pharmacy management experience is required, including regulations, waivers, state plan amendments, and/or state operations
• Expertise in analyzing large data sets and working comfortably with Excel is required
• Experience identifying, designing, recommending and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to client’s complex pharmacy-related challenges
• Knowledge of Medicaid policies, regulations, and program operations
• Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage, motivate, and mentor early career staff
• Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as presenting information to clients/groups
• Ability to prioritize, handle, and pivot among multiple tasks in a demanding work environment with a proven track record in supporting or leading large, complex projects
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple project deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership, thought leadership, project team leadership, and targeted business development
• Lead and contribute to client deliverables, presentations, and project documentation with increasing ownership over time
• Participate as a team member and help lead projects as states develop, implement and improve their Medicaid and CHIP programs
• Be viewed by the client as an expert on Medicaid pharmacy program design in areas that may include policy, program operations, financial and budgeting aspects of Medicaid and CHIP programs
• Consider the implication of policy, legal, political or other changes on the operation of a State’s Medicaid pharmacy program
• Coordinate and manage project teams, ensuring the team is within budget, on time, and producing work consistent with the scope of work
• Coordinate with client managers and other leaders to develop new business, including helping to define the proposal strategy
• Work with Division and Sector leadership to identify and secure staffing resources
• Stay current on market trends and the regulatory environment; bring a forward-looking perspective to counsel the internal client team and clients
• Become a trusted contributor on project teams by delivering accurate, timely, and insightful analysis
• Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, including Medicaid leadership, managed care entities, providers, and beneficiaries
• Manage the quality and timeliness of client deliverables, communicating regularly and effectively with project teams
• Develop intellectual capital; lead or participate in the development of tools or processes
• Be responsible for motivating and encouraging team members; manage project team dynamics and nurture collaboration
• Provide real-time feedback to team members to support growth and to maintain quality performance
