Job summary

Marsh seeks a Senior Medical Consultant II - Behavioral Health Clinician to join our Government Health Consulting (GHC) team. This role offers hybrid work near a Marsh office and a path to lead complex Medicaid/CHIP projects for state agencies, with client leadership and strategic impact.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project scope and budgets, and contribute to proposals and staffing. Deep behavioral health expertise, strong communication, and mentoring are essential.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a behavioral health discipline, sufficient to qualify for an independent and unrestricted clinical license (e.g., licensed clinical social worker, licensed psychiatrist, licensed psychologist).
5+ years of relevant experience in behavioral health, Medicaid, or related programs.
Knowledge of Medicaid policies, regulations, and program operations.
Demonstrated experience in Medicaid, Medicaid managed care, or related behavioral health programs.
Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
Ability to manage, motivate, and mentor early career staff.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
Experience presenting information to clients or groups.

Responsibilities

Provide project leadership, thought leadership, project team leadership, and targeted business development.
Lead and contribute to client deliverables, presentations, and project documentation with increasing ownership.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate regulatory requirements into program changes.
Serve as a subject matter expert in behavioral health programs across managed care, fee-for-service, and related funding.
Coordinate and manage project teams within budget and schedule, ensuring clear client communication.
Assist in proposal strategy, drafting technical proposals, and identifying opportunities for expanded work.
Work with leadership to secure staffing resources and develop team members.
Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to advise clients effectively.
Contribute to development of tools or processes that can be leveraged for multiple clients.
Provide real-time feedback to support team growth and quality.
