Job summary

FOCUS Team Focus Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter III for a fully remote role in the United States. You will underwrite complex personal lines, including homeowners, while guiding junior underwriters and addressing inquiries from agents and internal partners.

In this role you’ll influence underwriting decisions, maintain regulatory compliance, and help optimize workflows. A 7+ year background, strong communication skills, and MS Office proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of personal lines underwriting experience, including homeowners and related lines.
• Strong knowledge of insurance statutes, regulations and policies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to mentor junior underwriters.

Responsibilities

• Independently review and underwrite complex personal lines applications and endorsements.
• Provide guidance on high‑value or unusual policies and risk evaluations.
• Serve as SME for personal lines underwriting practices and respond to inquiries via multiple channels.
• Identify improvements to underwriting processes and participate in audits and training.
