Sweet James Accident Attorneys in Orange County, CA, seeks an experienced Team Lead to guide a pod of litigation attorneys on high-value personal injury cases. You own case strategy, mentor associates, and drive expert discovery, depositions, mediations, and trials with support staff backing your team.

You will lead team meetings, set weekly demand cadence, review filings for AI-use policy compliance, and report to litigation leadership.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and an active license to practice law in California.
• Five or more years of civil litigation experience, including at least three years in plaintiff-side personal injury.
• Experience as lead counsel owning personal injury files start to finish, including setting settlement value.
• Experience preparing cases for trial and managing discovery.
• Expert discovery experience: taking defense expert depositions and defending your experts.
• Mediation experience as the attorney driving the process end to end.
• Proven ability to lead by example, delegate, and develop less experienced attorneys.
• Strong negotiation skills and understanding of how PI cases are valued.

Responsibilities

• Review every new case with the team, set strategy and goals.
• Prioritize high-value cases and pursue settlements where appropriate.
• Conduct introductory calls with new clients and manage relationships on large cases.
• Draft complaints and ensure correct parties are named within statutes.
• Oversee expert discovery, designate experts, take depositions, and defend experts.
• Lead key depositions, mediations, and trials with Associates supporting.
• Set and monitor weekly demand cadence and prepare large-file demands.
• Ensure filings comply with the firm's AI use policy and keep leadership updated.
