Job summary

Sweet James Accident Attorneys is seeking a Team Lead Litigation Attorney to direct a pod of experienced associates and support staff. The role centers on setting strategy for high-value personal injury cases, guiding expert discovery, and overseeing complex depositions and negotiations.

You will lead team meetings, coach junior attorneys, and report to litigation leadership while ensuring top-tier client service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and an active license to practice law in the relevant state
• Five+ years of civil litigation experience, including at least three years plaintiff-side personal injury
• Experience as lead counsel owning personal injury files start to finish
• Experience preparing cases for trial
• Expert discovery experience: taking defense depositions and defending experts
• Mediation experience driving the process end to end
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example, delegate, follow through, and develop less experienced attorneys
• Strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of how personal injury cases are valued

Responsibilities

• Review every new case with the team, set strategy and goals
• Prioritize the portfolio: high-value cases and settlements
• Conduct the introductory client call and own the relationship on major cases
• Draft complaints and ensure correct parties are named within limitations
• Own expert discovery: designate and manage experts and depositions
• Take and defend key depositions in each case
• Prepare and attend high-value mediations and negotiate within authority
• Prepare and try cases with Associates supporting
• Set and track weekly demand cadence and prepare demands on large files
• Review filings for court compliance with AI policy
• Lead team meetings, coaching, and weekly status reports to leadership
