Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Performance Test Engineer to lead performance initiatives for complex enterprise and cloud-native apps. You will work with development, architecture, platform engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams to establish standards, automate gates, and optimize scalability.

The role is remote in the United States with responsibilities spanning testing strategy, automation, chaos engineering, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on performance testing or non-functional testing
• Experience with NeoLoad or similar enterprise tool
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures
• Programming in Python/Java and API testing
• Experience with observability tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus)
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift)

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and capacity tests
• Build automated performance-testing frameworks
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Analyze bottlenecks across application, database, infrastructure, and network
• Use AWS services and observability tools to troubleshoot issues
• Plan Chaos Engineering and resiliency testing
• Develop automation utilities to improve testing efficiency
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and standards
