Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Performance Test Engineer to lead performance engineering initiatives for enterprise and cloud-native applications. This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in performance testing, automation, cloud platforms, observability and resiliency.

You will design tests, build automated frameworks with NeoLoad, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD. AWS services and observability tools will be used to troubleshoot issues and drive capacity

Qualifications

• At least 10 years hands-on experience in performance testing/engineering for enterprise apps.
• Experience with NeoLoad or a comparable enterprise tool.
• Experience integrating automated performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
• Programming and scripting experience using Python, Java, SQL, and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, scalability, and capacity tests for enterprise apps, APIs, and cloud-based services.
• Build and maintain automated performance-testing frameworks using NeoLoad and custom solutions.
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines with performance thresholds and quality gates.
• Analyze applications, database, infrastructure, network, and cloud performance to identify bottlenecks and optimize.
• Use observability tools to troubleshoot performance issues in complex environments.
• Plan and execute Chaos Engineering and resiliency-testing exercises.
• Develop automation utilities to improve testing efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Partner with stakeholders to define performance KPIs and capacity requirements.
