Job summary
Subway is seeking a Sr. Performance Engineer to own the enterprise-wide Performance Engineering function across all digital platforms, including web, mobile, kiosk, POS, loyalty, and payments.
This role acts as a horizontal shared service partnering with Site Reliability, Observability, DevOps, and Architecture to improve reliability and resilience in accelerated delivery cycles. Qualifications
- 5–7+ years in performance engineering at enterprise scale.
- Hands-on with performance testing tools and observability platforms.
- Experience CI/CD integration and chaos engineering.
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or Python; cloud experience (AWS/Azure).
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise Performance Engineering as a shared service across platforms.
- Design and run performance tests; establish baselines and KPIs.
- Embed automated validation into CI/CD; report findings.
- Partner with SRE/DevOps to validate resilience and run chaos experiments.
- Provide go/no-go releases and executive reporting.
- Incorporate AI-assisted workflows and maintain artifacts.
