Job summary

The AES Corporation, a leading global power company, is seeking a Hawaii-based Senior Performance Engineer for AES Clean Energy. You will analyze performance across a growing portfolio of PV and battery storage projects, including DC- and AC-coupled architectures with microgrid functionality.

You will lead performance testing, data analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure reliable, safe, and optimal generation.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience focused on measuring and maintaining system performance.
• Desirable PE certification or on-track status; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with PV and battery energy storage project performance is a plus.
• Proficiency with analytics tools to develop metrics and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze performance trends of PV + storage sites and coordinate with operations.
• Lead performance tests (capacity, microgrid/islanding) and validate results.
• Develop system models representing facility performance and functionality.
• Provide technical SME input for microgrids, DC-coupled PV/BESS, and cross‑team reviews.
