Haveron James in New York City is seeking a Senior Perception Engineer to tackle large-scale localization, mapping and LiDAR perception challenges on real-world robotics systems. You'll join a small, highly technical team in a hybrid role with relocation support.

The position offers a base salary of $160k–$210k plus equity and opportunities to deploy production-grade software used by customers in the field.

Qualifications

• Must-have hands-on experience with C++ and Python.
• Deep SLAM and localization expertise required.
• Proven ability to deploy robotics software into production.
• 5+ years in robotics perception, autonomy or mapping.
• Backgrounds in autonomous vehicles, field robotics or large-scale perception are valuable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize LiDAR SLAM in GPS-degraded environments.
• Engineer sensor fusion and state estimation pipelines.
• Scale point cloud mapping and alignment for outdoor settings.
• Calibrate sensors intrinsics and extrinsics.
• Support localization across diverse operating conditions.
• Deliver production-grade robotics software used by customers.
