Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking a People Partner to translate business strategy into practical people and workforce plans across a defined portfolio. You’ll partner with leadership, guiding workforce priorities, employee relations, engagement and change in multi-geography environments.

You’ll report to the Manager People Partnering and support the Exploration Americas team, shaping priorities and coordinating delivery with People Experience and specialist teams.

Qualifications

• Able to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and translate priorities into practical people outcomes.
• Experience partnering across workforce planning, performance, talent, engagement and change in large organisations.
• Sound judgement on employee and labour relations with escalation handling.
• Ability to interpret workforce data and convert insights into actions.
• Collaborate with multiple People teams to deliver consistent outcomes.
• Fluency in English and Spanish with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted partner to senior leaders, shaping priorities and coordinating delivery through People Experience and specialist teams.
• Translate People strategies into practical workforce plans with clear actions and near-term priorities.
• Collaborate with Organisation and Talent Partners, People Experience, Areas of Expertise, Talent and Reward to deliver aligned strategies.
• Deliver operational workforce planning and fulfilment with stakeholders.
• Guide leaders through complex employee and labour relations matters, including escalations.
• Lead calibration of performance, talent and pay review processes for fair outcomes.
• Use engagement and workforce data to identify trends and drive targeted actions.
• Lead people aspects of organisational change and restructures with effective communication and adoption.
• Coach leaders on performance and employee experience while sharing portfolio insights for enterprise strategies.
