Job summary

The San Francisco Employees’ Retirement System (SFERS) is seeking a Benefits Supervisor to oversee the Member Services Unit, supervise analysts and technicians, and ensure accurate retirement benefit calculations and customer service.

Under general direction, you will monitor workflows, develop operational improvements, and coordinate with multiple divisions to deliver timely benefits processing for 32,100 retirees and beneficiaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Four (4) years of experience administering employee benefit programs.
• Two (2)+ years of senior level work in administration of employee pension and death benefits programs.
• Substitution: Additional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Member Services Unit.
• Supervise professional analysts and technicians in an employee benefits program.
• Ensure retirement counseling, application processing, and benefit calculations are accurate and timely.
• Coordinate with multiple divisions to gather data, perform analyses, and manage pension administration.
