Job summary

Duke University Health System’s Children’s Health Center – Special Procedures in Durham is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide care for pediatric patients undergoing procedures with general anesthesia. The role requires strong teamwork, clinical expertise, and the ability to coordinate comprehensive nursing care.

The position is full-time, on-site, with occasional weeknight and weekend on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's, Associate, or Diploma nursing program.
• Current NC RN license or compact licensure to practice in NC.
• Applicants must have BLS certification.
• Demonstrated teamwork and accountability in patient care.
• Ability to multitask, document assessments, and coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide professional nursing care according to medical plans and policies.
• Document nursing care and use nursing judgment to individualize care plans.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other care providers as needed.
• Act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit.
• Engage in professional development and contribute to performance improvement.
