Job summary

UNC Health Care's Children\'s Specialty Clinic in Chapel Hill seeks a nursing leader to advance ambulatory care quality and staff growth. You will supervise large clinical units, ensure staffing adequacy, and mentor nursing and support staff on a day-to-day basis.

The role emphasizes collaboration, education, and customer satisfaction as patients transition from clinic to community, within a 40-hour work week at our flagship UNC Medical Center site in Chapel Hill.

Qualifications

• BSN from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• BLS certification required.
• Three (3) years of professional nursing in tertiary care and one (1) year in management in a specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Patient care: ensure appropriate care and services for patients and families; coordinate interdisciplinary care.
• Human resources: recruit, retain, evaluate staff and apply policy for hiring and promotions.
• Budget management: manage personnel, supplies, and equipment costs; monitor budgets.
• Accreditation: meet regulatory standards and evidence-based practice.
• Quality improvement: lead initiatives to address safety and care quality gaps.
• Education: foster staff education and orientation; ensure annual competency assessments.
• Customer satisfaction: drive patient satisfaction and communicate results to staff.
