Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Staff SSD Hardware PCIe Engineer in the United States to push the boundaries of PCIe SoC design and validation. You will lead bring‑up, ensure performance and reliability, and collaborate across Architecture, Firmware, and Product Engineering in a fast-paced environment.

This role emphasizes system‑level validation, test automation, and working with third‑party IP vendors. You will apply AI‑assisted workflows to speed debugging and deliver high‑quality SSD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in EE/CE or related field.
• 7+ years in hardware development, silicon validation, or PCIe systems.
• Strong PCIe Gen4/5/6 knowledge and LTSSM familiarity.
• Post‑silicon validation and debugging experience.
• Proficient in Python, TCL, C or similar.
• Experience with high‑speed test equipment and measurement tools.
• Experience collaborating with silicon vendors to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware and system specifications from requirements.
• Lead PCIe bring‑up, characterization, debugging, and validation for SSD SoCs.
• Collaborate across Architecture, Build, Verification, Firmware, and Product Eng.
• Evaluate, integrate, and support PCIe IP solutions.
• Work with third‑party IP vendors to improve silicon functionality.
• Create system‑level validation environments and automated tests for PCIe compliance.
• Build validation methodologies and comprehensive plans.
• Analyze failures and perform root‑cause investigations.
• Apply validation tools to verify specifications and functionality.
• Partner with pre‑silicon teams to improve post‑silicon test content.
• Validate PCIe IP in complex system‑level SSD applications.
• Enhance infrastructure, methodology, and automation for validation efficiency.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools to speed development, validation, and debugging.
