Job summary

Amazon Cupertino seeks a Senior Hardware Development Engineer to lead PCIe manufacturing on the PCIe & Signal Integrity Team. You will develop, qualify, and improve PCIe components with vendors and at manufacturing sites for current and next-generation servers.

The role includes endothelial responsibilities like test-system readiness, root-cause analysis, and ramping production while driving yields and throughput with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in high-volume manufacturing operations, working with ODMs, CM and vendors across global networks.
• 6+ years manufacturing engineering on server platforms, silicon, PCBA, or complex electromechanical hardware such as PCIe devices/systems.
• 3+ years of end-to-end NPI participation from concept/design through mass production ramp.
• Demonstrated expertise in failure analysis, root-cause investigation, CAPA, and SPC (Cpk, yield, DPMO) with test metrics dashboards.
• Hands-on proficiency with lab equipment and strong analytical problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, qualify PCIe components with vendors and at manufacturing sites for current and next-generation servers.
• Lead PCIe hardware, firmware, and system yields and throughput improvement campaigns with manufacturing partners and design teams.
• Perform PCIe component and subsystem debug and root-cause failure analysis; create runbooks and train technicians.
• Support recurring certification programs to ensure consistent quality across sites; propose test systems and process improvements.
• Provide DFT feedback on test coverage and fault isolation to improve test effectiveness at scale.
