Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Test Engineering Manager in Newark, CA to lead the Test Engineering team in an electronics manufacturing environment. You will oversee PCBA test strategies, including Functional Testing, ICT, and Flying Probe, and drive improvements in test coverage and yields.

The role requires 8+ years in test engineering, 3+ years of leadership, and strong expertise in PCBA testing, NPI collaboration, and manufacturing ramp-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or related technical field.
• 8+ years in test engineering, EMS/PCBA/electronics manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
• Strong expertise in PCBA Functional Testing, ICT, and Flying Probe Testing.
• Experience overseeing test program development, fixtures, validation, and process implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Test Engineers, setting priorities, timelines, and expectations.
• Define test engineering strategies, standards, and best practices across programs.
• Manage resources and deliverables to support production and customer commitments.
• Oversee development, validation, and maintenance of PCBA testing solutions (Functional Test, ICT, Flying Probe).
• Guide test program development, fixtures, procedures, and methodologies for adequate coverage.
• Partner with NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Design Engineering and Program Management to ensure production readiness and ramp-up.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions to improve test reliability and manufacturing performance.
• Drive improvements in first-pass yield, test coverage, cycle time, and retest rates.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to resolve issues and align test requirements with product specs.
