Job summary

ABB E-mobility is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join the Operations Test Engineering team and lead the development of robust manufacturing test solutions for PCB assemblies used across our EV charging portfolio.

You will drive design-for-testability, implement ICT and FCT strategies, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, manufacturing and quality teams to improve first-pass yield, traceability, and production release evidence from prototype builds through mass production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Significant experience in PCBA manufacturing test engineering, production test engineering, or board-level validation.
• Proven expertise developing automated PCBA Functional Circuit Test (FCT) solutions and ICT methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy automated Functional Circuit Test (FCT) solutions for PCB assemblies and validate firmware readiness.
• Define and implement In-Circuit Test (ICT) strategies to detect defects before functional validation.
• Develop embedded-system test automation covering firmware programming, boot verification, and configuration management.
• Create robust validation methods for analog and mixed-signal boards, including calibration routines and measurement uncertainty.
• Partner with design and firmware teams to drive Design-for-Testability (DfT) and test-point accessibility.
• Build end-to-end traceability between requirements, nets, tests, and production metrics.
• Specify and integrate production test infrastructure, fixtures, probes, and automation equipment.
• Analyze ICT and FCT failures to drive corrective actions and improve first-pass yield.
