Job summary

Microchip Technology is seeking an experienced PCB layout engineer to design and lay out boards for hardware development tools. You will work closely with the HW Design team to ensure manufacturability, testability, safety, EMC, and RoHS compliance across high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics using Altium, Xpedition, or equivalent tools.

You will maintain HW quality documents, support vendor coordination, and contribute to component libraries. A B.S.

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
7.5 years of professional PCB layout experience.
Good knowledge of signal integrity and PCB thermal analysis.
Familiarity with Mechanical CAD package (SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Fusion/Inventor) or equivalent.
Ability to find, collect, and analyze technical information from various sources.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

PCB layout of Microchip hardware Dev Tool products.
Collaborate with HW Design teams to meet manufacturability, testability, safety, EMC and RoHS requirements.
Design high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics using EDA tools.
Maintain signal integrity, EMI/EMC considerations, and manufacturability.
Maintain HW Quality process documents (PCB/Sch, BOM, product drawings).
Contribute to company library functions for components.
Generate Gerber outputs, stacking, drilling details, and placement.
Coordinate with PCB vendors and Assembly Contract Manufacturers.
