Job summary

Zipline is seeking an Electrical PCB Layout Engineer to own PCB layout execution in Altium from schematic handoff through fabrication release. You will partner with electrical and mechanical engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure producibility and robust board designs.

Ideal candidates will have experience with high‑speed and mixed‑signal layouts, IPC standards, and the ability to document design decisions clearly while keeping revision history and release packages organized for prototypes

Qualifications

• Experience designing PCB layouts for production hardware.
• Strong understanding of placement, routing, stack-ups, vias, and impedance control.
• Experience with high‑speed and low‑speed board design and mixed-signal layouts.
• Ability to read schematics, datasheets, and fabrication notes.
• Knowledge of IPC design standards and ECAD‑MCAD workflows.
• Attention to detail and ability to communicate design tradeoffs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own PCB layout execution in Altium from schematic handoff through fabrication release.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams on design intent and producibility.
• Define and apply layout rules for controlled impedance, differential pairs, and power distribution.
• Place components and route boards with attention to signal and power integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal behavior.
• Generate fabrication/assembly outputs and documentation packages for release.
• Support design reviews across multiple teams and vendors.
• Maintain clean design data, revision history, and release packages.
• Help improve layout standards, templates, and repeatable release workflows.
