Job summary

Trident Systems seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in PCB design for space-grade hardware. The role emphasizes high‑density, high‑power, high‑speed layouts using Altium Designer for DDR4/DDR5 interfaces, RF and mixed‑signal content in compact space boards.

The candidate will own end‑to‑end PCB layout, maintain footprints, manage impedance, thermal, and manufacturability, collaborating with mechanical, EE, and program teams in a DoD/IC space setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years of related experience, or 4+ years with graduate degree.
• Expert‑level Proficiency with Altium Designer as the primary PCB CAD tool.
• Experience designing complex multi‑layer boards, high‑power and small form factors.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end PCB layout for digital, analog, RF, mixed‑signal, high‑speed designs using Altium Designer.
• Translate schematics, constraints, and requirements into compact, manufacturable layouts.
• Create and maintain footprints, symbols, and libraries per IPC standards.
• Define stack‑up, impedance control for high‑speed diff pairs and DDR4/DDR5 interfaces.
• Develop routing strategies for high‑speed links, RF paths, and memory buses.
• Optimize layouts for thermal performance and current handling in high‑power designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and program teams to balance size, power, SI, RF, and manufacturability.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with SI, PI, RF, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
• Generate fabrication/assembly documentation directly from Altium Designer (Gerber/ODB++).
• Work in configuration‑controlled environments with documentation, revision control, and releases.
• Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and iterative design improvements.
