Job summary

TRIDENT SYSTEMS LLC is seeking an experienced Senior PCB Designer to lead and execute complex PCB layouts for space‑bound electronic systems. You will rely on Altium Designer to deliver high‑density, high‑power designs with DDR4/DDR5 interfaces, ensuring SI, PI, and thermal integrity while collaborating across engineering teams.

The role requires a strong background in aerospace/defense PCB design, with a focus on dense form factors, RF content, and rigorous documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of related experience, or 4+ years with a graduate degree.
• Expert‑level Altium Designer proficiency as primary PCB CAD tool.
• Hands‑on DDR4 and/or DDR5 memory layout experience.
• DFM/DFT knowledge including high‑current routing, creepage, clearance, and thermal management.
• Excellent communication and cross‑discipline collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Translate schematics and constraints into compact, manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Create and maintain footprints, symbols, and libraries in Altium.
• Define stack‑up and impedance for high‑speed diff pairs and RF lines.
• Develop routing strategies for high‑speed links and DDR4/DDR5 buses.
• Optimize layouts for thermal performance and current handling.
• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing partners, and programs to balance size, power, SI, RF, and manufacturability.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure SI, PI, RF, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Generate fabrication and assembly documentation from Altium.
• Work in configuration‑controlled environments with revision control and release.
• Support prototype builds and debug high‑speed interfaces and thermal/layout issues.
